When is this MaD Tuk Tuk Challenge you talk of?
Your Tuk Tuk will hit the road at daybreak on April Fools day Thursday 1stApril 2010 and with a bit of luck and sweat you'll roll through the finish by Saturday, 10th April 2010. You'll need to arrive in Siem Reap, Cambodia by Monday, 29 March to get your tuk tuk ready before the challenge and the earliest date you can fly back from Phnom Penh, Cambodia is Monday, 12 April 2010.
Will there be any support?
This is no easy challenge and nobody is going to make this event easier for you. Because of the dangers on the route and the remoteness of the route (many hours for a helicopter evacuation) there will be a support vehicle keeping a distance to help out with medical emergencies and breakdowns. We will have a paramedic on board and Khmer staff.In the run up to the MaD Tuk Tuk Challenge we'll provide you with lots of information through our website system and respond to any questions you may have pre-departure.
How many people to a team?
You can have as many as you like, but unless you're from the contortionist caravan at the circus you're going to struggle to squeeze in more than two! One to ride the motorcycle for which YOU MUST have a minimum of a car drivers license or motorcycle license and one to act as ballast and navigator in the tuk tuk.
Where does my money go?
Your entry fee is used to cover the costs of running the event so that all the money you raise goes to the charity projects. We're a charity so if we make any profit from the entry fee they also help the charity projects - making this event unlike all the other (profit making) rickshaw and mototaxi events running around the world.
